Former Prime Minister Jim Bolger was farewelled today at an official funeral held at Our Lady of Kāpiti Parish in Paraparaumu, attended by political leaders from across the spectrum, including Prime Minister Christopher Luxon, former PMs Jenny Shipley and Sir Bill English, and the Māori Queen.
Governor-General Dame Cindy Kiro described Bolger’s passing as “the end of an era,” praising his vision, courage, and commitment to Māori reconciliation, echoed by speakers Sir Don McKinnon and Waikato Tainui leader Tukoroirangi Morgan. Luxon credited Bolger’s leadership during New Zealand’s first Treaty settlements, saying the nation is better for his “moral certainty.”
Parliament delayed its sitting by an hour to allow attendance, as poor weather disrupted travel. Bolger, who had suffered kidney failure, died last week surrounded by his family.
In the grand scheme of things just another globalist puppet.
Weasel words from those who will, in turn, be forgotten by history……
Pfftt, just another democracy eroding donkey.
Eeeee orr Eeeee orr Ereeee ways did what his masters told him to do.
Luke 9:60
In 1974, New Zealand’s Labour government introduced a bold, compulsory superannuation scheme—designed as a fully funded savings plan—but it was dismantled just two years later by the incoming National government under Piggy Muldoon
Under Prime Minister Norman Kirk’s Labour government.
In 1974, New Zealand’s insurance sector was navigating significant structural and fiscal pressures.
The year marked a turning point in broader economic and social policy that indirectly affected insurance institutions.
Where would NZ be now if this scheme hadn’t been scuttled?
And not staring down the barrel of a gun by 2035 when the ratio of workers supporting superannuation will be 3:1
At the moment 7:1
A predicament France now finds itself in and coming apart as being unsustainable
And Muldoon got a State Funeral.
