Co-accused Jonathan Clark also entered not guilty pleas.
Both appeared in the Manukau District Court this morning in respect of charges laid following an incident at Auckland International Airport on 25 February when police arrested the pair for allegedly filming an interview without a permit.
Outside the court Gunn was asked by state-subsidised legacy media how she was going to plead. She replied ‘completely innocent’.
According to legacy media reports the courtroom was packed with supporters of the two.
Gunn is facing three charges – wilfully trespassing, resisting arrest, and assault. Clark’s two charges are identical, except he is not charged with assault.
A point of contention at this early stage relates to the release of CCTV footage, which has been withheld by the airport citing privacy reasons. Gunn told judge McIlraith the footage was important for her case, ‘for transparency and justice’. This issue will be dealt with when the pair reappear for a case review on June 7.
Gunn and Clark were remanded on bail with conditions until the next court date.
