Masterton news

Masterton Police have recovered a large amount of stolen property following a search warrant on Monday 24 April.

After an investigation into a series of burglaries in the area, Police executed a search warrant at a residential address.

One person was arrested, and approximately $100,000 worth of property was recovered, including vehicles.

A 45-year-old man was charged with possession of methamphetamine and resisting Police. Further charges are being considered.

He is due to appear in Masterton District Court today (27 April).

These results come after the establishment of a Tactical Crime Unit in the area.

‘We hope this provides reassurance to the community that we work hard to hold offenders to account,’ said Detective Corey Reid, Wairarapa Tactical Crime Unit.

‘Anyone who has concerns about organised crime or illegal activity in their community, is urged to contact Police.’
