Missing minute in Epstein jail video fuels speculation about his death

Conservative influencers have accused President Donald Trump’s attorney general of mishandling the investigation into the disgraced financier’s last hours.

The 11-hour surveillance video recorded near Jeffrey Epstein’s jail cell contained a minute-long gap, fueling further speculation about the circumstances surrounding the late financier and registered sex offender’s death.

According to the US Department of Justice and the FBI, Epstein committed suicide at a Manhattan correctional facility on August 10, 2019, while awaiting trial on sex trafficking charges. However, some have claimed that Epstein could have been murdered, possibly by wealthy and powerful people he supplied with underage women for sex.

On Monday, the DOJ and the FBI released a two-page memo on the Epstein affair along with the surveillance footage. The video offered only a partial view of a stairwell leading to Epstein’s confinement in the prison’s Special Housing Unit, rather than the cell itself. The footage abruptly skips from 11:58 p.m. on August 9 to 12:00 a.m. on August 10.

The review concluded that no “client list” of Epstein’s pedophile ring ever existed and found no evidence of blackmail. There were no grounds to investigate uncharged third parties, the memo stated.

The findings contradicted previous statements by US Attorney General Pam Bondi, who had claimed that the client list was “sitting on [her] desk,” while the FBI had turned over a “truckload” of materials. She also accused the previous administration of hiding evidence.

During a government meeting on Tuesday, Bondi denied that the gap in the security footage was suspicious. She appeared to walk back her earlier remarks about the “client list,” saying she was referring only to some files related to the Epstein case.

“There was a minute that was off the counter, and what we learned from the Bureau of Prisons is every night they redo that video. So every night the video is reset, and every night should have the same minute missing,” Bondi explained.

Several popular conservative influencers, including President Donald Trump’s former adviser Steve Bannon, criticized Bondi and federal law enforcement for mishandling the investigation. “We have to take these apparatuses down,” he said.

Journalist Tucker Carlson described the Epstein memo as a “cover-up” after it was released. Podcast host Liz Wheeler and influencers Keith and Kevin Hodge have called on Bondi to be removed from office.

“No one is believing the Epstein coverup, President Trump. This will be part of your legacy. There’s still time to change it,” political commentator Mike Cernovich wrote on X.

  1. It is probably a glitch in the system, if they had tampered with it it would have been picked up in an audit, they wouldn’t just deleted 1 minute, they would have fabricated the whole day.

  2. “Here’s an edited video to show nothing untoward was going on 😉…”

They got away with BS like this for decades because Joe Public’s only source of information was the MSM.
