Manawatū Police have disrupted a significant commercial cannabis growing operation following the execution of a search warrant in rural Feilding.
On Thursday 18 June, Police carried out a search warrant at a property on Pharazyn Road in response to a drug cultivation operation.
Detective Sergeant Joe Salisbury says during the search, officers located more than 800 cannabis plants, along with substantial quantities of dried cannabis and a significant amount of cash.
“A 50-year-old man has now been charged with cultivating cannabis and possession of cannabis for supply. He is due to reappear Palmerston North District Court on 14 July.
“We remain committed to disrupting the supply of illegal drugs and holding those responsible to account.
“Operations of this size cause real harm in our communities. We will continue to target those involved in the cultivation and distribution of drugs,”.
Anyone with information about illegal drug activity is encouraged to contact Police via 105, or anonymously through Crime Stoppers on 0800 555 111.
Ah Manuwatu. Growers Country.
FEILDING?….!!!!
Certainly not Feilding???
What could possibly be going on in that unassuming, little satellite town in the Manawatu???
Maybe all of those confiscated plants will be used in the boiler fireboxes to fuel the Steam Tractor Parade, thus allowing Nana & Gramps to get high off of the various smokestacks…making them forget that their GRI hasn’t kept up with actual and true inflation for the last 20+ years during a possibly rigged (s)election scheduled for November….
(toot…tooooooot…toot…toot…)
Big deal. Why does this make me feel so underwhelmed?
It’s the underground economy that keeps the Zombie Towns alive…!
But soon, this will spread to the major cities.
