Multiple injured in Upper Hutt collision involving cars and pedestrians

A serious incident on Fergusson Drive near Tararua Street in Trentham, Upper Hutt, has left several pedestrians injured, including one in critical condition.

The crash, which occurred at approximately 1:45 PM, involved two vehicles and resulted in damage to a power pole alongside the injuries to pedestrians. Emergency services, including police, fire, and ambulance crews, quickly responded to the scene.

Authorities have not confirmed the exact number of pedestrians affected.

Fergusson Drive was closed as crews work to clear the site and investigate the cause of the crash. Motorists are urged to check for traffic information, especially those traveling to or from the nearby Wellington Cup Races at Trentham.
