Musk calls for abolition of the EU

Elon Musk says it's time to abolish the EU

Elon Musk has launched an extraordinary broadside at the European Union, calling for the entire bloc to be dismantled after Brussels hit his social media platform X with a €120 million (NZ$213 million) fine for alleged breaches of the Digital Services Act (DSA).

The European Commission on Friday accused X of failing to meet “transparency requirements” under the 2022 law, branding the platform’s paid blue checkmark system “deceptive” and citing insufficient ad disclosure and restricted data access for researchers. The ruling represents one of the largest DSA penalties issued to date.

Musk erupted on Saturday, accusing EU institutions of throttling innovation and eroding national sovereignty. “EU bureaucracy is slowly smothering Europe to death,” he wrote on X, declaring that the bloc should be “abolished” so member states can “better represent their people.” He described the EU as a “bureaucratic Monster.”

The fine also triggered an angry response from senior US officials. Secretary of State Marco Rubio labelled it “an attack on American tech platforms and the American people,” while Vice President J.D. Vance claimed Brussels was punishing X for “refusing to engage in censorship.” US Ambassador to the EU Andrew Puzder said Washington would challenge regulations that “unfairly target US companies.”

European officials rejected those claims. Henna Virkkunen, the Commission’s Executive Vice President for Tech Sovereignty, argued that misleading verification badges, opaque advertising practices and locked-out researchers “have no place online in the EU.”

  1. The US should lift all the sanctions imposed on Russia, then sanction the hell out of the EU and the corrupt unelected Commissioner and all her flunkies. Sanction Starmer and the UK as well while your’e at it. Maybe those clowns will then learn that the US does not appreciate the EU laying down ridiculous fines on US based internet social media companies such as the X platform in a blatant attempt to impose mass censorship.

  2. This is only one example in hoping that Russia will eventually defeat the EU as it has done with the Zionist Khazarian Ukraine and the little J3w running the country as a gangster dictator 2 years beyond his expired term as ‘president’ will go and hide with the paedophiles and rapists in Israel!
