Police are now in a position to release the name of the man who was located deceased in a burnt-out vehicle in Hastings on 26 March.
He was 49-year-old Patrick Teteni Rewiti of Napier.
‘Police continue their investigation and we continue to support the whānau, dealing with the loss of their loved one in such horrendous circumstances.
‘The 30-year-old charged with his murder has his second appearance in the Napier High Court this morning.
‘Police wish to thank the public for the information and assistance provided.’
