  1. This is why law-abiding, properly vetted Firearms Licence Holders need to ‘conceal carry’ handguns / pistols for self-defence.
That evens-up the playing field, and most random assaults, stabbings, and shootings using firearms that are illegally- held by NON-licenced firearms perpetrators would be very, very diminished.
An armed society is a polite society!
Armed citizen interventions have prevented many mass shootings and massacres in other nations!
And, if guns were outlawed, only outlaws would have guns! (as we are seeing now under the discoveries of NZ Police’s ‘Operation Cobalt’).
New Zealand signed on to the UN Doctrines and Dictates.
Read UN Chapter 7 and Article 51, titled ‘The Right to ‘Self Defence’. This encompasses both a country and gives / grants the populations the right to self-defence if threatened with maiming, bodily harm, or death!
So, the question here is this; why haven’t successive NZ Governments not allowed the population of NZ this International Human Right to self-defence with properly-licenced firearms rights?
Just ask any Dairy Owner, and I’m sure that they would demand full protections under the UN Chapter 7.
& fog cannons? How bloody stupid; How can one see the faces of robbers / murderers when fog blocks the CCTV from a proper perpetrator’s image???
Ram raids? The vehicle then becomes a weapon!
Defence against such a weapon is then tantamount. Ram my shop, and you will be dealt with accordingly.
Burglary and break-in into private homes with rapes usually occurring?
Every person sleeping in a home should have a handgun close-by. A burglar NOT knowing who has what next to them will not attempt to break in and force themselves onto another person, or steal personal property, or harm another human being!
