New South Wales health authorities have admitted that more than 20,000 Year 12 students vaccinated at Sydney’s Qudos Bank Arena in 2021 were not adequately informed of potential risks, including myocarditis and pericarditis.
The private April 2022 admission and apology came from Western Sydney Local Health District in response to a father’s complaint to the Health Care Complaints Commission.
Officials had pushed students to “go for gold” and get the jab so they could sit exams under lockdown rules. The Commission took no further action once fact sheets were updated.
