NZ Defence force to cut 374 civilian jobs

The New Zealand Defence Force (NZDF) is set to reduce its civilian workforce by 374 roles as part of a major restructure, following 145 redundancies last year, according to the Public Service Association (PSA).

The union condemned the move, accusing Prime Minister Christopher Luxon of hypocrisy for promising increased defence spending while overseeing cuts to critical civilian expertise.

PSA National Secretary Fleur Fitzsimons warned that the reductions would strain uniformed staff, increase workloads, and exacerbate retention issues, undermining the NZDF’s combat readiness. The union vowed to oppose the cuts, calling them “detrimental to national security”.

  1. The NZ defence farce ought to be gotten rid of, completely. Its a grotesque waste of public money and only exists, to ensure the globalist trash, get to stay in power. They were waiting in the wings, if the cops failed to remove to protesters, during the scamdemic. That’s their real reason for being. We have seen it in the past too, mainly during strikes and lock outs. Just as vile as the NZPolice.

    • ‘Operation Katipo’ exercise always happens around (s)election time, and pre-positions the NZDF in key locations in the event the Uni-Party loses big time in the (s)elections, and is replaced with something like a total NZ First landslide, or a Loyal Party re-emerging.
They are pre-positioned to insure that the minor parties do not get into …’power’..!
Operation Katipo is there to make sure that only the Uni-Party gets back into office in behalf of representing the Globalists and their policies, , and not us!
Costa Rica eliminated it’s Army and most of the Police- the abuses dropped off to nothing, and the money saved went into building a modern infrastructure!

      • NZF are part of the establishment but agree with you, they would not entertain a globalist free party coming to power like NZ Loyal (hence the lawfare attacks on Liz Gunn). We would probably see the same scenario as unfolded in Romania.

Costa Rica is a great example of a nation that has reformed itself away from the sort of banana republic corruption, we are seeing here. They have also done a great job with the environment and bio-diversity, too. Iceland is not an “entirely” bad example either, although of late they have lapsed somewhat.

  2. This could be the first indication that a military draft or conscription is coming.
Civilian employees tend to stay in one place and in one assignment. Whereas,
Active Duty Force Personnel are flexible by their roles, able to be re-assigned on a moment’s notice due to their military service status.
Most of them are younger and not as well paid as tenured civilians in Defence roles.
Which Global Cabal instructed Luxon to do this?
    I find it hard to believe that despite the newer aircraft needing much less overall maintenance and servicing, that can’t possibly justify the dismissals, redundancies and lay-offs of the Civilian Defence Force, unless;
The Civilians who are qualified to serve in the Reserves are going to be retained in their roles, with the ability to revert to Military status in the event of war, but still continuing in their jobs.
Kinda like the Air Reserve Technicians and Army Reserve Technicians (ARTs) in the I.S.A. (Israeli States of Amerika).

Maybe all of the new military hardware and software to run the same which has been purchased is now proving to be costly to pay off due to inflation, so the personnel and manpower has to go in order to keep up the payments to the Central Banksters…!

  3. All of the long-term civilian personnel in the NZDF and Veterans who have separated from the NZDF retain all of the critical knowledge, experience, and the procedures to carry out specific missions.
A USAF General was once asked “What is the most critical aspect to our readiness?”
The General responded “It’s our people, who can never be replaced by advanced stationary technologies or limited-mobility hardware!”
