NZ monitoring Middle East situation – Peters

The New Zealand Government says it is closely monitoring the situation in the Middle East following ongoing military strikes across the region, with officials urging New Zealand citizens in affected areas to take immediate safety precautions.

Foreign Affairs Minister Winston Peters said the Government is keeping a close watch on developments and has advised New Zealanders currently in Iran or Israel to shelter in place where it is safe to do so, or leave the countries if they are able to depart safely.

According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade, 23 New Zealanders are currently registered as being in Iran, while 62 are registered in Israel. Authorities are maintaining contact with citizens through MFAT’s registration system as tensions and security risks continue to rise across the region.

  1. Monitor? Wait and see?

Brainless Winston Peters needs to wait and see who wins the war before deciding how best to cover his globalist genocidal posterior before our general election in 8 months. The idiot needs time to decide whether he should keep kissing Marco Rubio’s butt.

  2. No condemnation for the illegal attack on Iran then? The attack that will likely lead to grave consequences for the world economy.

    International law? Rules based order?

    Winston the sock puppet

  3. Shut up old fool.
    Time for the knacker.
You have done disservice after disservice to the People of New Zealand.
You have been a turncoat on your political standings multiple times. A failed lawyer, like so many in the beehive. We are sick of apparatchiks like you.

  4. You could start by kicking the FBI out of New Zealand along with the CIA, who are no doubt her too. We are not a vassal and its time we asserted our sovereignty and neutrality.

  5. Piss poor response from Peters to what is an act of aggression in flagrant breach of international law just as Iran was trying to reach a peaceful settlement of the dispute by negotiation in good faith. Peters is a globalist poodle.

  6. DEVELOPMENTS?
This is an egregious unprovoked assault against a sovereign nation, totally in violation of international law!
Over 200 civilians have been maimed by zionism, half of them children!
How about a condemnation of this crime by our peace-loving nation?

  7. Phew, I was beginning to get concerned, but with Winnie monitoring the situation there’s nothing to worry about.

  8. His stupidity remains baffling after all of his decades of so-called experience. Winston Peters cannot recognise what a truly independent foreign policy might look like.
