The New Zealand Transport Agency (NZTA) has revoked 440 commercial driver licences found to be fraudulent after an internal audit in July 2025 uncovered falsified or altered overseas documents used to obtain local licences.
Deputy director of land transport Mike Hargreaves told state-funded media NZTA’s fraud detection systems had flagged the irregularities during the licence conversion process, prompting swift action to cancel the licences and contact those involved.
He said the agency would hold offenders accountable, reminding the public that supplying false information in a driver licence application breaches the Land Transport Act 1998 and carries fines of up to $750.

While converting license in NZ, NZTA take Driving test, after passing theory and practical driving test, then NZTA issue driving license, then how after 2 years NZTA saying its fake?
