A person has died after a concrete truck crashed into a house on Rangitoto Avenue in Auckland’s Remuera suburb around 9am this morning.
The truck, operated by Atlas Concrete, slid off a narrow shared driveway and crushed part of a house undergoing renovations. Emergency services responded quickly, but the critically injured individual was confirmed dead by early afternoon.
A painter scheduled to work on the house narrowly avoided the accident due to a school drop-off, according to legacy media. Police have launched an investigation into the incident, and WorkSafe has been notified. The scene was cordoned off as the truck was removed and evidence collected.
