
Police can advise one person has died after a glider crashed at Lake Station airstrip, Howard earlier today.
The aircraft crashed on the runway and the occupant sadly passed away at the scene.
‘Police extend their condolences to their family at this difficult time.’
A scene examination is underway, and the Civil Aviation Authority has been advised.

Never fly a glider unless you know you can handle a landing in rough terrain, or away from the airfield.
Luftwaffe Pilots all started out in gliders, and they had a high survival rate in forced landings in powered aircraft due to the skills learned in the gliders.
