One person has been found deceased following a house fire in New Plymouth during the early hours of this morning.
Emergency services were called to a property on Trelawney Crescent at about 2.30am after reports of a house fire. Firefighters extinguished the blaze, and a person was later located dead inside the property.
A scene examination is now underway, with police working alongside Fire and Emergency New Zealand to establish the cause and circumstances of the fire. Further updates are expected once investigations progress.
