Outrage across Muslim world at Quran burning in Europe

Rivals Saudi Arabia and Iran united in condemning the series of incidents in Sweden and Denmark.

Muslim-majority nations have angrily criticized the governments of Denmark and Sweden for repeatedly allowing the burning of the Quran during protests in their capitals. The latest incident, during which the Muslim holy book was trampled on and destroyed, took place in Copenhagen on Monday.

Türkiye condemned the protest, which was staged in front of the Iraqi embassy by an ultra-nationalist group called Danish Patriots. The Turkish foreign ministry called the protesters’ actions “vile attacks against our holy book” and urged the Danish authorities to “take the necessary measures to prevent these outrageous acts.”

Baghdad slammed both the burning on Monday and a previous demonstration by the same group, which took place last Friday.

“These systematic actions expose societies to the infection of terrorism and hatred and threaten peaceful coexistence,” the Iraqi foreign ministry said in a statement on Monday.

Last week’s event in Copenhagen, which the Danish Patriots live streamed on Facebook, triggered mass protests in Baghdad. Bridges to the Green Zone, which houses several Western embassies, were closed off on Saturday and security measures were increased by the government.

Danish diplomatic staff left Baghdad on the same day, the Iraqi ministry reported on Monday. Denmark said its embassy was closed for summer holidays, but denied withdrawing personnel.

Just days earlier the Swedish embassy in Baghdad was overrun by angry protesters, who were protesting a demonstration during which a Quran was burnt in front of the Iraqi diplomatic mission in Stockholm. In response Iraq expelled the Swedish ambassador and recalled its own representative to the country.

Algeria, another Muslim-majority nation, summoned the Danish ambassador and the Swedish chargé d’affaires on Monday to issue formal protests over what it called a string of “immoral and uncivilized acts.”

Saudi Arabia issued a condemnation on Sunday, before the latest episode in Denmark took place, saying that the desecrations of the Quran were “inciting hatred and violence between religions.”

Riyadh’s long-term regional rival, Tehran, took the same position, with the Iranian foreign ministry reportedly summoning the Danish ambassador on Sunday. The statement expressed condemnation of “any defiling of Islamic sanctities anywhere in the world.”

Muslim critics of the politically-charged Quran burnings in Europe say the perpetrators are abusing freedom of expression in order to incite hatred.

  1. Maybe leave Europe for the Europeans? 🤷🏼‍♂️

Maybe they have the right to do what they want in their own lands? 🤷🏼‍♂️

Maybe they’ve had enough of their elderly being assaulted, their women and children being harassed and attacked, their cathedrals being torched and replaced with mosques blaring loud and annoying whining over their once peaceful cities 🤷🏼‍♂️

Maybe, just maybe, there are different races colours and creeds for a reason? Maybe forcing all those incompatible religions, cultures and value systems into one big “melting pot” isn’t so great for the people who have to live in that pot while the elites who vote for it remain safely tucked in their gated mansions? Maybe the different nations of the earth should coexist in peace, but SEPARATELY from one another as was the intention of God or evolution or whatever the hell separated us all out from one another in the first place? 🤷🏼‍♂️

Maybe UNITY is strength, not diversity (which is literally from the word “divided”) 🤔🤷🏼‍♂️

Now clutch your pearls and gasp in horror at the big, scary, “hateful” words I just uttered. Pick up your rock for my public stoning. The line forms to the left.

  2. Contrast and compare:

They burn a Qur’an and the whole world knows because of social media.

HCQ and IVM save lives of COVID patients and social media accounts are deleted.

Don’t be divided humanity. Watch who divides us. United we are strong, divided we are weak (and slaves).

    • When Muslim and African men rape 1,200 women in cologne in a single night (New Years 2016), we are told it’s “just a few lone wolves”.

When ONE doofus white guy shares the Christchurch shooting video or posts an idiotic pic of themselves in front of a swastika, we are lectured to for weeks about how the entire pakeha race needs to “do better”, how all the evils of the world are apparently our fault and how we should be ashamed of our ancestors’ blood running in our veins.

Get bent, I will not apologise for things I didn’t do.

I personally wouldn’t burn a Quran just for the sake of trying to hurt or infuriate a Muslim person. Its petty and childish, and it does nothing to address the problems mass migration has caused.

But at the same time, we have free speech in the west (at least sort of, for now anyway). If they don’t like it, they’re more than welcome to piss off back to their sharia paradise of war and deserts.
