Passenger pulled from sea after Bluebridge ferry incident

A person has been safely retrieved from the water after going overboard from a ferry in the Cook Strait.

StraitNZ Bluebridge spokesperson Will Dady told state media the incident triggered the immediate launch of the vessel’s fast-response rescue craft.

Crew aboard the Livia acted swiftly, locating and recovering the individual without delay on Monday.



Dady acknowledged the crew’s rapid response, adding no further details are currently available.
