Police are progressing the investigation into a fatal crash on Te Pahu Road, south of Whatawhata, Waikato, in October last year but want to speak with motorists who were on that section of road prior to the incident.

The single-vehicle crash happened about 5:10pm on 31 October 2025 and resulted in the death of the sole occupant, Detective Deb Ngatai says.

“We would like to speak with anyone who travelled along Te Pahu Road between Ferguson Road and Old Mountain Road on 31 October, between 4pm and 5.15pm.

“We appreciate that some time has passed, but the information could be incredibly valuable to the investigation. In particular, we would like to speak with a man and woman who stopped and spoke to road workers, alerting them to the crash.

“Police would like to take this opportunity to thank the members of the public who have already assisted with this investigation.”

If you can assist enquiries, information can be provided online at 105.police.govt.nz, or by calling 105.
