Police are appealing for information after an unattended dingy was found at Hihi Beach, near Doubtless Bay in Northland, around 5pm on Thursday night.
The light blue dingy is approximately 6 feet with a worn off-white interior.
A fishing net with floats, three freshly caught fish, a loose seat cushion and a wooden bench seat were located inside.
The general appearance of the dingy indicates it is in use, so Police would like to rule out the vessel being linked to anyone missing or in distress.
“As a precaution, we would like to appeal to the public for any information that may assist in identifying the owner of the boat or its recent movements”, said police in a statement.
