Political party accused of delayed action despite early warnings of sexual misconduct by former member

Waikato crime news

A former political figure, whose identity remains secret, has been found guilty of eight charges of indecent assault after a trial in the Auckland District Court.

Despite being informed nearly three months prior that the individual was a “sexual predator,” the political party he was affiliated with delayed taking action.

Screenshots of a conversation and circulating in the legacy media reveal that a complainant’s wife had informed the party leader about the allegations, but the party only responded by offering contact with an employment lawyer. The political figure continued to hold his position until resigning nearly three months later, after which the victim’s case was escalated to the police for a full investigation.

The party leader’s delayed response and the lack of immediate action have drawn accusations of mishandling of the situation, highlighting inadequacies within the party’s internal processes for dealing with such serious allegations.

Apart from the screenshots however, few other details are available at this stage as to what steps the political party took in the period between being notified and the man’s resignation as the party has to declined to comment while the case is before the courts.

Yesterday the political figure was found guilty of multiple sex abuse charges against committed against two male defendants. His name remains secret at least for the next 14 days to allow the offender time to apply for permanent name suppression.

  1. Always hiding the identities of these ‘offenders’, similar to Masonic Lodge members being given over to secrecy at all levels to hide their crimes.
If a Targeted Individual was caught doing these things, they would have their name(s) all over the media!
