Poll: National and Labour deadlocked at 28%

maxresdefault 8

National and Labour are tied on 28% in the latest 1News Verian poll, while Leaders Chris Hipkins and Christopher Luxon are level on 20% as preferred prime minister.

Opportunity was up to 8%, putting it on track for 10 MPs and potentially making it the kingmaker. ACT and NZ First were both on 10%, the Greens were on 15% and the Maori Party on 0.4%.

The poll surveyed 1,007 eligible voters between 8 and 12 October, with a 3.1 percentage point margin of error.

As polls suggested Opportunity could hold the balance of power, a little-known political connection has emerged: leader Qiulae Wong’s mother, Margaret Malcolm, was a senior adviser to former minister and National MP Judith Collins.

  1. Margaret Malcolm worked as a senior advisor and private secretary to former National Party Minister Judith Collins in the New Zealand Parliament. Malcolm served closely with Collins, including accompanying her on official or controversial trips (such as a 2014 trip to China involving milk exporter Oravida). Malcolm was also a former chief executive of the Auckland District Law Society, now The Law Association, which publishes Law News. Malcolm is the mother of Qiulae Wong, the leader of The Opportunities Party.

  2. The “polls” had Hitlery Clingon as a dead cert to win against zion Don follow the rein of Obomber.
Don’t let the “polls” stop you supporting any party which supports Direct Democracy. It is the best option for ending the fake democracy uni-party round-about which you have been witnessing your entire life.
Do you really think anything will change if National is replace by Labour, or some coalition cobbled together including NZ First, Act, the Maori Party and the Greens? Or maybe you’re not happy unless you can sit at home complaining about the fake democracy political party politicians?

  3. Roughly 1000 people (out of a population of 5 million?) with a 3.1% margin of error. I see too, no one is voting for any of the new parties such a Freedom or NZ Loyal apparently. This is akin to using your best guess when designing a passenger jet.

  4. Margaret Malcolm is the mother of Qiulae Wong, the leader of The Opportunities Party.?
That opportunists party has been created purely to suck up disgrunteled MS voters, only to then form a coalition with any of the MS parties. What we observe is the normal greedy parasitic filth in the beehive.
28% ??? Are we Kiwis that stupid ???

  5. The election has already been decided don’t bother voting because it’s just a scam one of these puppets will get in god help NZ.

    • *shock*. But this is our most important (s)election ever! We all need to get our there and (strategically) vote even harder than the previously most important election ever!
