A prisoner at Paremoremo Prison is in a critical condition after being attacked by three other inmates just before 10am.

Emergency services transported the victim to Auckland City Hospital, while prison staff secured the alleged offenders, who will be placed in directed segregation.

Police have launched an investigation, and prison management said violence would not be tolerated, stressing that staff deal with some of New Zealand’s most dangerous offenders in a highly challenging environment.

  1. Separate prisons for separate gangs. PERIOD!
Separating violent from non-violent is also necessary.
One relative had a shanking attempt made on his life in Canada. He is skilled in Martial Arts, and was able to invert the attacker’s elbos on the arm that held the knife, and inverted the shank into the offender.
    The offender lived…
The relative got an extra 5 years tagged on, and since the prison staff did not insure his safety (they knew about the threats of being threatened with shanking…)they caused my relative another 5 years in prison.
He was moved to ‘open segregation’ and hits the exercise yard with only three others. He gets served his meals in his cell away from the general population where vendictive vindettas are ever-present.
The guy who ended-up in the hospital is an MS-13 type. My relative wrote a check that bounced unaware that his partner had previously overdrafted the account by C$800.00.
That was enough for an arrest warrant, and from there, everything spiraled downward.
But…that’s Canada for you..! If you walk in the woods, this summer, you’ll get a C$25,000.00 fine!
