Reports circulating in Israel and the United States suggest Iran’s Supreme Leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, may have been killed following recent US and Israeli military strikes.

No independent verification has been provided and Iranian authorities have not confirmed the claims.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said there were “growing signs” that Khamenei was “gone” after coordinated attacks targeting locations in and around Tehran. Satellite imagery released earlier appeared to show damage to a compound associated with the Iranian leader, but officials have not confirmed whether Khamenei was present at the site during the strikes.

Speculation intensified after former US President Donald Trump reportedly told NBC News that discussions with multiple sources led him to believe the reports could be accurate, stating, “I have spoken to a lot of people, we feel that is a correct story.” However, no official confirmation has been issued by US defence authorities or intelligence agencies.

Iranian officials have yet to respond publicly to the claims.

  1. What they don’t seem to understand is if this is true, “they” in turn, become targets too. Suffice to say how many world leaders need to be murdered or abducted by the US and its cronies before the rest of the world actively condemns and sanctions them?
