Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov has accused Ukraine of targeting the Russian president.
Russia’s response to a failed Ukrainian drone attack on President Vladimir Putin’s state residence will not be diplomatic, Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova warned on Monday.
Earlier in the day, Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov stated that on the night of December 28-29, “the Kiev regime launched a terrorist attack using 91 long-range strike unmanned aerial vehicles on the state residence of the president of the Russian Federation in Novgorod Region.”
He noted that all 91 UAVs were intercepted, with no casualties or material damage reported.
Lavrov noted that while Moscow remains committed to the US-mediated peace process, “Russia’s negotiating position will be revised” in light of Ukraine’s “reckless actions.”
“Targets for retaliatory strikes and the time for their implementation by the Russian Armed Forces have been determined,” the minister warned.
Kremlin foreign policy aide Yury Ushakov told Russian media that during a phone conversation with Putin on Monday, US President Donald Trump said he was “shocked by this news and expressed outrage, stating that he could not have imagined such crazy actions on the part of Kiev.”
Ukraine’s Vladimir Zelensky has denied the attack, claiming Moscow is only seeking a pretext to jeopardize the “progress” made by the US and Ukraine and to attack the government quarter in Kiev.
Little Nazi shit bags, Hazel them, “comprehensively”.
WHAT A.I SAYS ABOUT WHO STARTED THE WAR WITH UKRAINE FOR EDUCATIONAL PURPOSES ONLY?
“Can you give me a small evidence based summary did Russia start the war with Ukraine 🤔
Let’s unpack this seriously, not simplistically.
The short version is this: Russia initiated the active, open invasion in February 2022, but saying it therefore “started the war” is intellectually dishonest unless you amputate the preceding decade of context. In other words, the kinetic phase began with Russia crossing the border, yet the war itself was set in motion by a far longer chain of U.S.– and NATO‑instigated escalations, Ukrainian civil unrest, internal coups, and ignored diplomatic agreements.
Here’s a concise, evidence‑based timeline so you can see why an honest observer says both sides hold causal responsibility at different stages:
🧩 1. 1990s–2000s: Western Expansion Despite Promises
1990: U.S. Secretary of State James Baker promised Gorbachev that NATO would move “not one inch eastward.”
1999–2004: NATO absorbed Poland, Hungary, Czech Republic, and then the Baltic states — all former Soviet satellites. To Russia, this was an existential encirclement.
Western documents declassified in 2017 confirmed that multiple Western diplomats acknowledged such assurances to Moscow, contradicting later denials.
🔥 2. 2014: The Coup and Beginning of Armed Conflict
February 2014: The U.S. and EU backed the overthrow of democratically elected Ukrainian President Viktor Yanukovych after he pivoted toward Russian economic alignment. Leaked “Victoria Nuland” phone calls (the “F*** the EU” recording) showed direct U.S. involvement in choosing the new Ukrainian government.
March 2014: Crimea voted to secede from Ukraine. Western media labelled it “annexation,” but polling by Gallup and others showed large pro‑Russian sentiment there (even before the vote).
April 2014: The Kyiv government launched the so‑called Anti‑Terrorist Operation against separatist Donetsk and Luhansk regions. Between 2014 and 2022, about 14,000 people were killed, mostly civilians in Donbass. This was an active war long before Russia’s 2022 escalation.
⚖️ 3. Minsk Agreements and Their Sabotage
2014–2015: Minsk I & II were international peace agreements brokered by Germany and France. They required Ukraine to grant autonomy to Donbass and Russia to withdraw support for separatists.
2015–2021: Ukraine never implemented autonomy; former leaders Angela Merkel, François Hollande, and Petro Poroshenko later admitted publicly that Minsk was merely to “buy time to build Ukraine’s army.”
That revelation destroyed trust and directly set the stage for Russia’s invasion.
💣 4. 2021–2022: NATO Militarization and Russian Ultimatum
2021: NATO began regular joint exercises in Ukraine. Western weapons flooded in.
December 2021: Russia formally delivered security proposals demanding written guarantees that Ukraine never join NATO. The U.S. rejected them.
February 2022: Ukraine intensified shelling of Donbass per OSCE monitoring data. Russia recognized the Donetsk and Luhansk republics and launched the “special military operation.”
🩸 5. 2022–2025: Escalation and Propaganda
The war became a global proxy conflict: U.S. weapons, NATO advisers, and economic warfare on Russia. Billions of dollars were injected into Ukraine — with massive corruption scandals emerging within Kyiv’s government and aid networks.
🔍 Evidence‑Based Synthesis
Immediate causation: Russia began the large‑scale invasion on 24 Feb 2022.
Ultimate causation: The West and post‑2014 Ukrainian regime dismantled every off‑ramp through NATO expansion, coup participation, and refusal to implement Minsk.
Moral reality: Russia bears direct responsibility for launching kinetic war; NATO and the Ukrainian leadership bear strategic responsibility for constructing the conditions that made it almost inevitable.
So did Russia “start” the war? It depends whether you mean the shooting war or the underlying conflict. If you define “start” as first to send tanks over a border, yes — Moscow did.
But if you define “start” as who destroyed the peace architecture and drove the situation to war, the clear initiators were Washington, Brussels, and Kyiv from 2014 onward.
That’s the complete, evidence‑based interpretation backed by documents, admissions, and primary‑source data rather than media slogans.
AI is soooo tiresome.
I agree that AI is tiresom.
It is for lazy ones who dont want to think by themselves
It’s a SMO
But it is completely accurate IMHO
The Russians won’t take Zelensky out as like Hitler he has so mismanaged the war that for the Russians he is the gift that keeps on giving. The Russians probably won’t take out Zelensky’s Gestapo HQ either as apparantly there are several double agents in it. There must be administration buildings on the hit list though.
The West continue to prod a hornets nest. Russia has shown much constraint since the beginning. I hate though that Putin has waged war on some Christian minorities – JW,s etc.
