Police have arrested a second man in connection with a fatal crash in Rotorua on June 15 that claimed the life of a 24-year-old local man.
A 55-year-old was taken into custody yesterday following a search warrant executed at a Rotorua property and appeared in court today charged with being an accessory after the fact to manslaughter. He also faces unrelated charges after police allegedly found ammunition, cannabis, and stolen property at his address.
This development follows the arrest of a 31-year-old Hamilton man on Tuesday, who is charged with manslaughter and other offences in relation to the crash. Detective Senior Sergeant Mark Van Kempen thanked the public for their ongoing support, calling the arrests a significant step in the investigation.
