Auckland man Wayne Paul Henry has been sentenced to 23 years in prison for sexually abusing four victims over three decades, including a mother and daughter targeted as teens while he was a foster carer.
Despite being found guilty of 18 charges and deemed a high risk to the public, the 56-year-old avoided preventive detention, with the judge citing a likely reduction in risk as he ages.
Henry, who previously served time for earlier offences, showed no remorse and will be ineligible for parole for 12.5 years.
His crimes, described by the judge as predatory and depraved, caused profound psychological harm to his victims.
