SFO and police drop criminal probe into Manurewa Marae

Manurewa Marae unvestigation news

Manurewa Marae has avoided a criminal investigation after the Serious Fraud Office (SFO) and Police concluded there was “insufficient evidence” to prove corruption in relation to alleged misuse of Census 2023 and Covid-19 vaccination data for Te Pāti Māori political campaigning.

While corruption charges have been ruled out, the SFO and Privacy Commissioner are continuing inquiries into possible privacy breaches, after an earlier Public Service Commission review found government agencies failed to implement adequate safeguards to protect personal information.

Te Pāti Māori president John Tamihere labelled the investigation a politically motivated “witch hunt” targeting Māori, saying no evidence of wrongdoing had been uncovered.

  1. This will not help society.
And Tamihere, YOU need to have a good long hard look at your own humanity. And effin grow up!

  2. How about a politically motivated investigation designed to cover up “sufficient evidence” of wrongdoing and corruption from mafia don Tamihere and his Te Pāti Māori party.
