Legacy media state-funded broadcaster TVNZ has appointed Melissa Stokes as the new weekday anchor of its flagship 6pm 1News bulletin, succeeding veteran presenter Simon Dallow, who will step down on November 28 after nearly 20 years in the role.
Dallow, 61, has been with TVNZ since 1993.
Stokes, who has been with the broadcaster for more than two decades, currently fronts the weekend bulletin and previously served as 1News’ Europe Correspondent.

Attention couch potatoes
Do people in New Zealand still watch television?
1 news is fake news
Does anyone watch “One Views” anymore?
It wouldn’t matter whomever they appointed. I simply do not watch state media.
I am done. And I don’t believe I’m the only one.
The most fowl, annoying voice I have ever had the misfortune of hearing. At least it is like a smoke alarm going off to alert me to turn the TV off.
Blood on Her hands.
Save us all some Kiwi Rupees, cancel 1News.
MSM in New Zealand have the sole purpose of being purveyors of stochastic terrorism. All designed and controlled by WEF.
Totally fake.
