Ten confirmed dead after gunmen open fire at Jewish event on Bondi Beach (Video)

10 dead after shooting at Bondi Beach in Sydney

Ten people, including children and a police officer, have been confirmed dead following a mass shooting at Bondi Beach on Sunday evening, after two gunmen opened fire during what authorities believe was a targeted attack on a Chanukkah gathering.

Ten people have been confirmed dead according to news.com.au.

Police say one attacker was shot dead at the scene, while the second was wounded, taken into custody, and remains under medical treatment.

A Chanukkah event is a public or private gathering held to celebrate Chanukkah, a Jewish festival that commemorates the rededication of the Second Temple in Jerusalem around the 2nd century BC.

Emergency services were called shortly before 6.45pm after reports of multiple people being shot near the beach, which was crowded due to Christmas markets and the Chanukkah event advertised to begin earlier in the evening. Police sources believe the attack had been planned for months and specifically targeted the Jewish celebration.

NSW Ambulance deployed more than 26 emergency resources, including intensive care paramedics and medical helicopters. Multiple victims were treated at the scene, with others transported to St Vincent’s Hospital, Royal Prince Alfred Hospital, and St George Hospital.

Disturbing video circulating online appears to show a bystander courageously confronting one of the gunmen, wrestling a shotgun away as shots continued nearby. Footage also shows a second gunman firing from an elevated position, as panicked crowds fled the beach.

Prime Minister Anthony Albanese described the scenes as “shocking and distressing,” confirming he had been briefed by federal and state authorities. NSW Premier Chris Minns said the reports coming out of Bondi were “deeply distressing” and urged the public to follow official police instructions.

NSW Police declared the situation an active security incident, warning people to avoid the area and seek shelter. Investigations are ongoing as authorities work to establish the full circumstances and motive behind one of the deadliest attacks in Australia’s recent history.

  1. I cannot believe it’s not Mossad. Australians need to face the fact that criminal jews are importing misery on to this country and causing mass unrest. Criminal jew terrorists are behind much of the social destabilisation, attempting to sow discord and civil unrest.

  2. Everyone and their grandma knows it’s MOSSAD, no one is going to believe them again, that boat has sailed and they are ones to blame

  3. Looking at the genocide in Gaza, is it surprising, that these kind of equally tragic events, are unfolding. Australia needs to sever all ties with Israel and sanction them. Its the only way to restore peace. Of course, being in the US’s pocket, they wont. Instead, we will see more draconian surveillance and control measures, which wont work.
