Police advise there have been two fatalities today in separate workplace accidents in the Western Bay of Plenty.
Workplace incident – Ōmokoroa, Western Bay of Plenty
One person has died as the result of an incident at a workplace on Te Kaka Place Road, Ōmokoroa.
Shortly after 1.15pm today Police received a report of an incident in which one person had been injured.
Emergency services attended but the person died at the scene.
An investigation is underway and WorkSafe has been notified.
Fatality following incident on rural property – Te Puke
A person has died following an incident at a rural property on Number 3 Road, Te Puke.
The incident was reported to Police at 1.40pm.
Emergency services attended but the person has died at the scene.
Police are making enquiries in relation to the death on behalf of the Coroner, who will release their finding in due course.
