Two Rotorua cops injured in dog attack during arrest

A routine arrest in Rotorua turned violent when a dog attacked two police officers at a property on Old Taupo Rd around 9.10pm, leaving one requiring surgery.

Police confirmed the person of interest was taken into custody, but during the arrest, one officer was mauled, and a second was injured while intervening.

Both were treated in hospital, with Bay of Plenty District Commander Superintendent Tim Anderson praising their courage and confirming support measures and a debrief to prevent similar incidents.

    • I’d never use a sausage though
My sausages come in a six pack
Which means I would be left with an odd number of sausages
Unless I cut one sausage in half
And that’s not about to happen any time soon

  1. Lets get something straight, its not a dog attack- its a dog on its own property defending it. NZ poolice shoot lots of dogs, there are ways to mannage around dogs but they chose otherwise.Shoot my dog, I chew you.
