Police have confirmed that a 32-year-old man from Peterborough is the sole suspect in a stabbing attack on a London-bound train that left 11 people injured, including a railway staff member now in critical condition.
The attacker boarded the LNER service in Peterborough before launching an apparently random knife assault, prompting the train to make an emergency stop in Huntingdon, Cambridgeshire.

Witnesses described scenes of panic as passengers fled, while staff and bystanders intervened to protect others.
Police praised the “heroic” actions of the injured staff member and the driver, whose quick thinking enabled emergency services to reach the train rapidly. A knife was recovered at the scene, and no other suspects are being sought.
