Ukraine is now suffering an estimated 27,000 soldiers killed or wounded every month, according to Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk, who described the figure as a grim wartime record.
Tusk disclosed the estimate while addressing the Polish parliament on Thursday, offering an unusually specific public account of the scale of Ukrainian battlefield losses.
Neither Kiev nor Moscow routinely publishes comprehensive casualty figures, while Ukraine’s Western supporters have generally avoided providing detailed public estimates of Ukrainian military losses.
According to Tusk, changing Russian tactics and advances in battlefield technology are contributing to the mounting Ukrainian toll, particularly the increasing deployment of jet-powered drones.
“The new Russian strategy, and above all its new technical capabilities, namely jet-powered drones, are also causing much greater losses on the Ukrainian side,” Tusk told lawmakers.
He said the casualty estimate had come directly from Ukrainian officials.
“Our Ukrainian partners have informed me that recently the monthly figure has been 27,000 killed and wounded, and these are, unfortunately, records in this war, in the saddest sense of the word,” Tusk said.
The Polish leader also warned that Ukraine could face an increasingly severe situation if losses continue at their current pace.
“If this trend continues, the winter in Ukraine could indeed be catastrophic,” he said.
Public estimates of Ukraine’s overall military losses have varied considerably. In February, Ukrainian leader Vladimir Zelensky said at least 55,000 Ukrainian troops had been killed since the conflict dramatically escalated in February 2022. In July, he cited figures of 50,000 dead and 400,000 wounded, while acknowledging that “a huge number” remained unaccounted for.
Russia maintains that Ukraine’s actual losses are substantially higher and has repeatedly accused Kiev of understating its casualty figures.
Russian Chief of the General Staff Valery Gerasimov claimed that more than 76,000 Ukrainian troops were killed or wounded during Ukraine’s 2024 incursion into Russia’s Kursk Region, an operation that continued for roughly 260 days.
Russia’s Battlegroup Center separately claimed on Friday that Ukrainian forces had lost almost 3,000 personnel in Donbass during the preceding week.
Russian Defense Minister Andrey Belousov has also claimed that approximately 500,000 Ukrainian troops were killed or wounded during 2025. These Russian figures have not been independently established in the information presented here.
Ukraine has meanwhile taken increasingly stringent steps to replenish its military ranks. The draft age was lowered from 27 to 25, most military-age men remain prohibited from leaving the country, and mobilisation efforts have intensified.
Videos have also emerged showing Ukrainian recruitment officers confronting and detaining potential conscripts in public places and workplaces, including incidents in which force was used against men attempting to resist or escape mobilisation.
Tusk’s disclosure nevertheless stands out because it comes from the leader of Poland, one of Ukraine’s most prominent European supporters. If the reported rate of 27,000 killed and wounded each month persists, it would represent more than 320,000 casualties over a full year.
$190 million. Every. Single. Day. That’s what this war is now costing Ukraine — up from $140 million per day in 2024. Inflation, more soldiers, payments to families of the dead, ammunition disappearing into the meat grinder.

This is the disclosure part, where we find out Kiev has been lying about their battlefield losses and numbers of fallen soldiers.
It’s more than 1.5M dead, and at least 3 times that for wounded (4.5M).
Kiev deception is a deliberate strategy to ensure support and continued funding.
Just like Kiev financial corruption we are now hearing about, it will take a while before the truth about Ukrainian fallen soldiers is finally exposed.
It is very strange that Tusk’s words about Ukrainian losses have not been reported in ANY established Western media, but have been widely reported in numerous secondary sources. Either MSM is failing to report everything it knows or the secondary media outlets are telling outright lies. Either possibility is extremely concerning, and it doesn’t help that so many journalists of all shades and alignments talk with great certainty about things which are often little better than guesses or assumptions. Such behaviour harms ALL journalists because it damages public trust and results in media sources being unable to connect with the viewers and listeners.
Revolting and all thanks to the likes of the globalist USA, UK, Germany, France and other bloody vultures making money off misery and death. I wonder too, if this is the lead up to Poland kicking Ukraine refugees out, especially young men. I see too the AFD want to send them back from Germany. So much for ending the war, eh?

Canada looks to cash in on EU’s €90 bn Ukraine arms scheme. What do you expect from a banker for a Prime Minister. Ursula is offering EU associate membership. More like purchasing a subscription. What a joke “European” Union is. Just like NATO seeking partnerships outside north atlantic. Just another globalist racket.
Tell us all how anybody in Europe is making money out of the misery and death which prevail in Ukraine. For most European people and European countries, the war in Ukraine is a significant drain on resources, one which we are prepared to bear in order to protect ourselves against the Russian bear.
The war was over when Russia crossed over into Ukraine in 2022 in a special military operation
