At least 24 people were killed and more than 50 injured after a drone strike hit a café and hotel in the Black Sea coastal village of Khorly in Russia’s Kherson Region, according to regional authorities.

Governor Vladimir Saldo said the attack occurred shortly after midnight during New Year’s celebrations and involved three unmanned aerial vehicles, one of which allegedly carried an incendiary device that sparked a large fire.
The regional government released images showing extensive damage to the buildings.
Saldo told RT the sickening attack was comparable to the May 2014 Odessa massacre. At the time, Ukrainian ultra-nationalists who supported the then recent Western-backed coup in Kiev chased 42 anti-government protesters into the city’s Trade Unions House before setting the building on fire and burning all of them alive.
Kherson Region, which Moscow claims as part of Russia following referendums in 2022, has been a frequent target amid the ongoing conflict.

When doing a reef survey, I would have thought it would be better to rely on sonar and actual eyes rather than GPS. Reefs grow and shrink. Probably part of the reason for the survey
