30-year-old Vancouver man Kai-Ji Adam Lo has been charged with eight counts of second-degree murder after driving an SUV through a crowd at a Filipino community festival, killing at least 11 people aged 5 to 65 and injuring dozens more.

Authorities, who anticipate further charges, stated that Lo had a significant mental health history but found no links to terrorism.

The attack, described as Vancouver’s darkest day, prompted national mourning and global messages of support.

Police and witnesses noted that festival-goers detained Lo until officers arrived, and investigations continue as the death toll may still rise.

  1. And still European people, especially men, are responsible for all the bad things, that happen in the world, right?

  2. Cars are dangerous weapons and need to be outlawed. If folks were moved to 15 minute cities with no cars, guns, knives, hammers, ropes and ate bugs they’d be much safer.
