Wellington chef Aakash Aakash has been sentenced to 27 months in prison after a judge rejected claims that post-traumatic stress disorder caused his sexual offending.

While on bail for biting a woman’s nipples until they bled during a serious sexual assault, Aakash committed further indecent acts by masturbating on a public bus.

His lawyer argued for leniency, citing his remorse, guilty plea, and efforts to address alcohol addiction, but Judge Noel Sainsbury ruled a custodial sentence was necessary to protect the public.

The judge accepted PTSD may have affected Aakash’s mental health but said it did not excuse his actions.

  2. Wow, an actual non-woke judge applying the law, common sense and putting public safety above the poor criminal’s feefees.

Is there a solar eclipse or something today that I wasn’t aware of?
