Sharma spoke to legacy MSM outlet Newshub today, and made more explosive claims, this time against the Prime Minister’s Office.
Sharma said the outcome of the caucus meeting, which ‘unanimously’ decided to suspend him, was made the night before, at a secret caucus meeting to which he did not receive an invite.
In support of his claims the produced a recorded phone call from another Labour MP who was at the secret meeting:
‘It’s all pre-determined. This is purely just to get them where they want to be, which is for caucus to be aware that a decision will need to be made, and that will be, it’s going to be to whack you.’
‘What is the Prime Minister trying to hide?’ said Sharma.
‘I’m here speaking up again, because I’m being silenced once again, after having gone through it for one and half years.’
The MP labelled the process of suspension a ‘Kangaroo Court.’
‘You have my assurance and word here it would not have been keeping within the rules to make any predetermination and we were very clear that we wouldn’t and we didn’t,’ Ardern told media on Tuesday.
But Sharma said the decision was a ‘kangaroo court and a banana republic. I could show up and the decision was made the night before’.
