The White House has rolled out a new “media bias” tracker that publicly names news organisations it accuses of publishing false or misleading stories, escalating President Donald Trump’s long-running feud with what he calls the “fake news media.”
Launched on Friday under the website banner “Misleading. Biased. Exposed,” the tracker highlights disputed articles each week, categorizing them as misrepresentation, omission of context, bias, or malpractice, and linking to the original reports.
The administration said the tool will serve as a running record of stories it believes inaccurately portray the president or his statements. CBS News, The Boston Globe, and The Independent were the first to be spotlighted as “Media Offenders of the Week,” with the White House accusing them of exaggerating Trump’s remarks about accountability for Democrats.
A searchable “Offender Hall of Shame” includes dozens of entries from outlets such as The Washington Post, CNN, MSNBC, and CBS.
The launch follows controversy over a BBC Panorama documentary that used misleadingly edited footage, prompting the broadcaster to apologise after Trump threatened legal action.
Several US outlets have recently settled defamation claims brought by the president, though organizations like The Washington Post maintain confidence in their reporting despite being labeled repeat offenders by the tracker.

If that’s extended to foreign outlets, guess who will be on that list?
