City officials have identified the woman killed during a federal immigration operation in Minneapolis as 37-year-old mother Renee Nicole Good, as sharply conflicting accounts emerge over the circumstances of her death.
The Department of Homeland Security says Good was shot by an ICE agent acting in self-defense after she allegedly used her vehicle to threaten officers during an enforcement operation in south Minneapolis.
Minneapolis City Council members condemned the shooting, demanded ICE leave the city, and called for full criminal accountability.
Good’s family described her as compassionate and uninvolved in protests, saying she was likely frightened during the encounter.
Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem said Good repeatedly obstructed officers and attempted to run one over, calling the incident preventable. The shooting remains under investigation, and authorities have confirmed no body cameras were worn by agents involved.

The ICE stop was right outside her house. She was leaving her home to take food to a friend. If the vehicle had been allowed to accelerate into full motion, the officer would have gone under and been run over – his life was legitimately in danger and his actions were justified.
