Binance says $2.54 billion in assets have been frozen as a precaution.
Binance, the world’s largest cryptocurrency exchange, has estimated the impact of a cyberattack at $6.3 billion, saying hackers may have exploited an employee’s compromised laptop to make unauthorized withdrawals.
In an update on Friday, the company said its preliminary investigation suggested that an attacker gained access to a service container through a compromised laptop belonging to a DevOps engineer, allowing unauthorized withdrawal transactions to be submitted.
Binance said it found no evidence that wallet private keys were leaked and pledged to cover all losses using its Secure Asset Fund for Users and company funds.
“The estimated total impact sits at around $6.3B. We have worked with blockchain partners to freeze affected assets, with ~$3 billion frozen on-chain so far,” the exchange said in a statement.
The company stressed that customer funds are safe and said it would publish a detailed technical report once its investigation is complete.
As an immediate precaution, Binance temporarily suspended deposits and withdrawals, and conducted security checks. It also revoked the affected address authorization and enlisted law enforcement and blockchain intelligence firms to trace and recover funds and identify those responsible.
The incident follows reports of suspicious transactions involving billions of dollars in digital assets transferred from wallets linked to Binance on Thursday.
Blockchain researchers initially estimated the outflows at $2.77 billion across five blockchains. Binance subsequently confirmed that $2.54 billion in affected assets were frozen.
Stablecoin issuers Tether, Circle, and Ripple were among the companies that moved to freeze assets linked to the suspected attack.
The suspected attack comes amid a series of major cryptocurrency thefts this year. In September, hackers stole around $388 million from the Bitget exchange. Attacks on the Drift Protocol and Kelp DAO platforms in April resulted in losses of $285 million and $292 million, respectively. In February 2025, suspected North Korean hackers stole around $1.5 billion from Bybit in what was widely described as the largest cryptocurrency heist on record at the time.
Binance co-founder and former CEO Changpeng Zhao pleaded guilty in 2023 to violating US anti-money-laundering laws and stepped down as head of the exchange as part of a settlement in which Binance agreed to pay $4.3 billion in penalties. He subsequently served a four-month prison sentence.
US President Donald Trump pardoned Zhao in October 2025. The White House defended the decision, saying he was unfairly prosecuted under former President Joe Biden as part of a broader crackdown on the cryptocurrency industry.

Things that make me go hmm.
Who are attempting to make people nervous about investing in crypto?… just prior to a financial collapse?
Central banks want you reliant on them alone. No bullion, no crypto, no AI management.
Over the target. When it gets stolen will nobody be surprised? After all we told you it was going to happen. The writers the directors the actors and the world is our stage. Welcome to the globalist new world order not so new. But anyway this is just a precursor to what is coming.
If you don’t hold it, you don’t own it.
The Binance breach resulted in the misappropriation of approximately $6.3 billion in assets
Affected Assets: The stolen funds belonged to Binance itself, specifically从其 hot wallets, which are used for operational liquidity and user withdrawals, rather than the majority of customer funds held in offline cold wallets
Company Assurance: Binance CEO Richard Teng confirmed that customer funds were not impacted, stating the exchange would cover all losses using its Secure Asset Fund for Users (SAFU) and company reserves
Recovery Status: While $6.3 billion was drained in roughly 20 minutes, approximately $3 billion of the stolen assets has been frozen by stablecoin issuers like Tether and Circle, with Binance actively working with law enforcement to recover the remaining $3.3 billion
Net effect for a regular holder: funds intact, losses fully covered, brief withdrawal pause, and a ~4% market dip on the broader crypto sell-off. Compared to what could have happened (customer accounts drained, exchange insolvency, etc.), it’s about as good an outcome as one could get from a $6.3B heist
A favorable outcome to those Binance investors who have not suffered coronaries
For the moment or was that this time?
Crypto anything; If thej can freeze your assets as security measure,

NZ Loyal De-Banked!
April 28, 2025 Published by Secretary
NZ Loyal is now completely de-banked, following unprecedented obstruction from the banking industry toward the political party.
Since 2024, the NZ Loyal board has been applying to open an official bank account for the party. In most cases banks have taken weeks or months to process the application before ultimately rejecting it under the Anti-Money Laundering and Countering Financing of Terrorism Act 2009. NZ Loyal has been completely de-banked by ASB, Kiwibank and NBS. Co-op and SBS were also unable to proceed with our application.
According to the banks, political parties and Politically Exposed Persons are a risk for money laundering and financing of terrorism. Without a shred of evidence, banks can now imply a criminal risk exists simply because they disagree with their customer’s political opinions. They now have the power to undermine a political party’s ability to collect the membership payments required to register in the next election!
This matter is being referred to the Banking Ombudsman for urgent consideration. There is a very real possibility that NZ Loyal, a political party in a democratic society, may be completely forbidden from holding a bank account in New Zealand altogether. This has a chilling effect on democracy, which could disenfranchise over 34,000 Kiwi’s who voted for us in 2023.

You need physical gold, silver and platinim in your possession.
Not stocks, bonds, paper ‘assets’, none of that shit!
Eventually, ‘precious metals’ will not be useful as there will be nothing left to buy with it.
Also keep your gold away from silver mercury, as mercury dissolves gold.

Crypto currency and CBDC’s are not safe and can easily be hacked and spied upon by ‘big brother.’
Cash is king.
However, physical gold and silver are actually real money that cannot be hacked by computer crooks.
