Two youths have been arrested following an aggravated robbery at a Hamilton business and a later disorder incident involving a vehicle, police say.
Officers were called to a business on Crawford Street at about 5.30pm on Sunday 14 December after reports that a group of six people, believed to be teenagers, had entered the premises.
Police say at least one person in the group was allegedly armed with a knife. The group made demands of staff but fled after being confronted by another employee, taking items with them.
Later that evening, at around 9pm, police responded to reports of disorder in the Bader area, where a vehicle had allegedly been driven toward a group of people. When officers arrived, the vehicle fled but was stopped a short time later on Reuben Place.
Police identified two occupants of the vehicle as being linked to the earlier aggravated robbery. Both were taken into custody and are due to appear in the Hamilton Youth Court.
No injuries were reported in either incident. Police say enquiries are ongoing to locate others involved and further charges may be laid.
