The All Blacks will launch their 2026 test season with a landmark clash against France at Christchurch’s new Te Kaha Stadium—their first major test in a permanent Canterbury venue since the 2011 earthquake closed Lancaster Park.
The season features 17 matches, including 13 tests, kicking off on 4 July and marking the start of the new 12-team Nations Championship.
Italy visits Wellington the following week, while Eden Park will host Ireland and later Australia for the opening Bledisloe Cup test as the All Blacks defend their 52-match unbeaten streak at the venue.
Dunedin and Hamilton miss out on hosting duties next year. NZ Rugby CEO Mark Robinson described the Christchurch test as a symbolic moment for both the region and the sport, while coach Scott Robertson welcomed the opportunity to bring the team to his hometown.
The packed 2026 schedule also includes a four-test tour of South Africa, midweek games against South African URC sides, a two-week Bledisloe series, and Nations Championship fixtures against Wales, Scotland, England, and a finals weekend in London.
