The All Whites delivered one of their best performances against a top-ranked opponent, drawing 1-1 with world No. 31 Norway in Oslo.
New Zealand, ranked 83rd, dominated much of the match and took a deserved lead through Finn Surman just before halftime, after an earlier Marko Stamenic goal was ruled offside by VAR.
Striker Chris Wood, earning his 88th cap, hit the crossbar before Norway equalised through Antonio Nusa. Goalkeeper Alex Paulsen made several key saves as the All Whites held firm late, showing marked improvement ahead of their November fixtures against Colombia and Ecuador.
