Anderson rescues Forest and secures Premier League survival

Elliot Anderson scored a dramatic late equaliser against former club Newcastle United F.C. to secure Nottingham Forest F.C.’s place in next season’s Premier League.

Harvey Barnes appeared to have given Newcastle a crucial win in their fading push for European qualification after finishing smartly in the second half, but Anderson struck two minutes from time after linking up with James McAtee to earn Forest a valuable point. Results elsewhere later confirmed Forest’s survival, marking a successful turnaround under manager Vitor Pereira, who took charge earlier this year.

Newcastle, meanwhile, continued a disappointing campaign, slipping further down the table after failing to hold onto their advantage despite creating several strong chances throughout the match. Final score: 1-1.
