Arsenal maintained their unbeaten start to the Premier League season with a 3-1 comeback victory over Southampton at the Emirates Stadium.
Despite Cameron Archer giving the visitors a shock lead early in the second half, Arsenal responded quickly with goals from Kai Havertz and Gabriel Martinelli within 10 minutes, before Bukayo Saka sealed the win with a late strike.
The victory marked Arsenal’s 400th home win in Premier League history, keeping them just one point behind leaders Liverpool before the international break.
Southampton, still without a win this season, initially frustrated Arsenal with a tough first-half display but couldn’t hold off the Gunners’ pressure after Archer’s goal.
Despite coming close twice when efforts from Dom Ballard and Adam Armstrong hit the woodwork, Southampton were ultimately outclassed by Arsenal, whose manager Mikel Arteta praised Saka for his game-changing performance.
The win extends Arsenal’s unbeaten streak in all competitions to 16 matches, as they continue their strong start to the Premier League campaign.
