Arsenal have agreed a deal worth up to £32.6 million to sign Spanish midfielder Mikel Merino from Real Sociedad.
The 28-year-old, who played a key role in Spain’s Euro 2024 victory, is set to become Arsenal’s third signing of the transfer window.
With an initial fee of £28.4 million and £4.2 million in potential add-ons, Merino will bolster Arsenal’s midfield, offering versatility and experience alongside players like Declan Rice and Martin Odegaard.
Merino, who previously played in the Premier League with Newcastle, brings a wealth of experience, having earned 28 caps for Spain and scored eight goals for Sociedad last season.
