Auckland FC fight back twice to earn draw with Victory

Auckland FC twice came from behind in front of more than 10,000 fans to secure a 2-2 draw in a tense and dramatic clash with Melbourne Victory, with Sam Cosgrove equalising just before half-time and Lachie Brook netting a late free kick.

Despite early setbacks including conceding first and losing Nando Pijnaker to injury, Auckland showed resilience each time they fell behind, responding strongly in both halves.

Debuts for Luka Vicelich and Jimmy Hilton added to the occasion, while late attacking pressure nearly produced a winner before coach Steve Corica was sent off for dissent. The result keeps Auckland in second place with two home games remaining.
