The Black Caps completed a perfect run in their T20 Tri-series campaign, clinching the title with a dramatic three-run win over South Africa in the final, maintaining an unbeaten record under new coach Rob Walter.
After posting 180/5, built on solid knocks from Devon Conway, Tim Seifert, and Rachin Ravindra, New Zealand held off a strong Proteas chase that faltered despite a 51-run innings from Lhuan-dre Pretorius and late fireworks from Dewald Brevis.
With South Africa needing just seven from the final over, Matt Henry held his nerve, aided by sharp fielding and crucial catches, to seal the victory and continue the Black Caps’ winning streak.
