New Zealand squared the series after defending a competitive total in the second match, with the Black Caps producing a dominant bowling display against South Africa.
Sent in to bat first, Devon Conway anchored the innings with 60, while Josh Clarkson added late momentum with 26 from just nine deliveries as New Zealand finished on 175 for six. In reply, Lockie Ferguson and Ben Sears claimed three wickets each, while Mitchell Santner took two as South Africa national cricket team were bowled out for 107 in the 16th over.
All-rounder Cole McConchie said the surface offered assistance for bowlers despite appearing good for batting, crediting Conway’s innings for reading the conditions well and laying the platform. With both series now level, the four teams move to Eden Park for the third match on Friday.
